12 Recipes That Use Wine

Use wine in more ways than one! Desserts, slushies, and icy treats!

With these recipes, you can use wine several different ways – even though nothing beats a glass of red after your nine to five.

I can still taste the bubbles from my first gulp of beer after being pregnant. It was delicious, satisfying, and went incredibly well with my steak dinner. I must say, I have yet to experience my first glass of wine since giving birth, but I’m definitely looking forward to it.

In our household, wine gets stashed up quite easily. When we host dinner parties, our generous guests usually present us with a bottle (or two) and so we rack up quite the collection.

In order to avoid missing any bottles, I gathered up 12 different recipes that use wine. From icy treats to classic desserts – I found some pretty impressive recipes that’ll have you serving some boozy treats in no time!

Friday Favorites: Mad About Lips

Eventually, I’ll be brave enough to sport bold colors on my lips. For now, I’ll just watch tutorials on Insta.

Wrapping up the week with everything and anything about lips.

Ever since I picked up my tube of Dior Addict Lip Glow, I’ve been seriously scouring the web for more lipstick options. Don’t get me wrong: my lipstick collection is quite decent, especially in ratio to what I have in my makeup drawer. I like to think that I show a fine balance between “cosmetics lover” to “minimalist makeup applier.”

This Friday, I rounded up anything and everything about lips. From treatments to products I’m most curious about: here are some of the most interesting reads on the net this week.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Refreshing and Alluring: Dior Addict Lip Glow

Refreshing and Alluring: Dior Addict Lip Glow

Part color, part balm and 100% effective. Dior Addict Lip Glow is one-of-a-kind.

I was never one for deeply-colored lipsticks. I love the look of a matte plum or a bright red on others, but would never be bold enough to sport them myself. When I heard about Dior Addict Lip Glow, I was intrigued. I immediately added it onto my Spring Makeup Wishlist and soon it enough, it became a staple in my cosmetics collection.

Dior’s Lip Glow boasts a unique formula that transforms itself into a “universal balm.” When applied on the lips, it’s creamy and soothing. Its color tone looks different on every person. Thanks to its special chemistry, Dior’s Lip Glow flushes out a custom pink based on the person’s skin tone and what’s suits them best.

I have never felt so comfortable with any other lipstick. Sure, I have a decent collection with shades I am in love with. However, this product really does give me the best of both worlds. I apply it freely like a lip balm and sport it with confidence due to its perfect coloring.

Friday Favorites: Pineapple Sweetness

The best in pineapple sweetness. Friday has never tasted so good.

The best of the week, featuring some recipes that boast a whole lotta pineapple sweetness.

Earlier this week I boasted about Fabulous Habits’ new and shiny look. A logo goes a long way for branding, which is why I was thrilled that my dear friend Belinda hopped on board to help us out for ours.

So why the pineapple?

I wanted something sweet to represent Fabulous Habits. I wanted to throw an ode to my family and have it reflect on our heritage. A pineapple is vibrant, sweet in taste, and thrives in tropical climates. It was just a natural fit for FH.

So, without further ado, I present to you some delicious pineapple recipes to help kick start your weekend. Have a great one!

A Fresh New Look: Fabulous Habits x Quire & Co.

Partnered with Quire & Co for a fresh, new look for the Fabulous Habits blog

Partnered with Quire & Co. for a sweet, fresh and new look.

Not too long ago, I interviewed my friend Belinda Moy for her recent ventures in Quire & Co. – a blog dedicated to beautiful calligraphy and the art of bullet journals.

A couple of years back, Belinda helped me create a logo for my food blog, Marble Crumbs. As always, I was incredibly happy with her work. Soon enough, I decided it was time for Fabulous Habits to boast a fresh, new look.

I started blogging for my love of storytelling and my fascination with beautiful, airy, and ethereal photography. I decided that what this blog needed most was a brand-spanking, shiny, new logo. Of course, I turned to Belinda for her talent and brilliant mind: I couldn’t imagine anyone else in helping me with the branding of Fabulous Habits.

As always, Belinda put to life exactly what I had envisioned. The logo is incredibly fitting to the Fabulous Habits brand.

If you head on over to the Quire & Co. blog and Instagram page, you’ll see that Belinda’s got quite the giveaway up her sleeve. Best of luck and I hope you have a fabulous day.

Spring Makeup Wishlist

New season, new changes and new spring makeup!A new season has arrived! It’s time to stock up the cosmetics collection: make way for new, spring makeup!

Spring is a great opportunity to let go of the old and welcome the new. During this time of the year, I like re-organize my makeup. It ensures that I am getting rid of year-old, overused products and that I’m keeping things clean and hygienic. Before I came up with this annual routine, I would find lipsticks and mascaras that were questionable in age.

Here are the products that have made this year’s Spring Makeup Wishlist. Which ones tickle your fancy?

New season, new changes and new spring makeup!

{one} Marc Jacobs Beauty Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter – With a dry complexion, I am all about the dewy, highlighted look this season. Love the fact that this product is formulated with five forms of coconut.

{two} Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Caffeine – Urban Decay is best known for its eyeshadow primer. I’m excited to try one of their newest ones, especially in the shade of Caffeine.

{three} Dior Addict Lip Glow – I’ve been wanting to pick up a tube of Dior lately. I couldn’t have learned about Dior’s Lip Glow at a better time. It’s a hydrating lipbalm with a beautiful shade that’ll bring out the natural pink in your lips.

{four} 7-Piece Morphe Brush Set in Rosé – Morphe brushes are all the rage and for good reason. They’re soft, effective and have a great price-point. I am pretty minimalistic in my makeup routine, so a simple set like this one is all I need to complete my collection.

{five} Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick – I have been obsessively watching YouTube makeup gurus in hopes to perfect the skill of contouring. Bobbi Brown’s foundation stick is exactly what I need to make my contour game on fleek (sorry, I had to).

{six} Dr. Hauschka Concealer – This has been on my “must-have list” for a few months. I’ll especially need it in the spring as the weather gets warmer. Sometimes, I’ll sport a simple look using concealer only. No need for heavy foundations on a scorching hot day!

Silicone Beauty Sponge

Tested and reviewed: here are our first impressions on the Silicone Beauty Sponge. The silicone beauty sponge offers a new way to apply foundation.

I have a weak spot for binge-watching beauty gurus on YouTube. A couple of my favorites include Morgan from The Beauty Breakdown and Nikkie from NikkieTutorials. I can watch them all day. Perhaps it’s the way they flawlessly apply foundation, create the perfect lip, and blend in their eyeshadows… whatever it may be, it is all so jaw-dropping. I also love it when they review trending beauty products. I love seeing their first-hand experience with a product I’m contemplating purchasing.

Lucky for me, I got my hands on a couple of generic-branded silicone sponges. The Silicone Beauty Sponge rose to fame because of how little product it “drank up” compared to competing makeup sponges and brushes.

I was giddy with joy when I received mine. I was so eager to try them that I even went out and purchased a new bottle of my go-to Bobbi Brown foundation. Upon trial, here were my initial thoughts:

  • A lot less product is required (compared to using makeup sponges and brushes)
  • Easy to clean – love the fact that this can be wiped dry, unlike sponges that need to be aired out. Less room for breeding bacteria!
  • Smooth on the face – no abrasiveness on my sensitive skin

  • Takes more time to blend – I had a more difficult time getting my foundation to set on my skin and not look so cakey
  • Shape is not-so angle friendly – harder to get in smaller areas like creases or just underneath the corner of my eye

Overall, the silicone beauty sponge is something I would recommend. I would, however, encourage people to be extremely patient with it. Application may take some getting used to. Once you get the right blending technique, you’ll find that its pros heavily outweigh its cons. I find that softly dabbing it onto your skin will help with build-up and coverage.

5 of my Favorite Home Offices

Five stylish home offices to draw inspiration from.

More and more families are incorporating home offices into their humble abodes. Here are a few of my favorites.

Joe and I are finally getting ready to purchase our first home. Since we’re just in the early stages, our planning is stress-free and inspiring. We’re scouring Pinterest for our dream kitchens, making lists of must-have’s and can’t-live-without’s… everything is all so exciting.

One thing’s for sure: a home office is a definite ‘need’ for the both of us. We decided that any extra space will be devoted to our home offices and we will make it beautiful, functional and family-friendly (especially since we have our baby boy to accommodate).

I found five home offices that each have unique elements to them. Which one is your fave?

Five stylish home offices to draw inspiration from.

one – Love that the bulk of this office is made up of IKEA furniture. Great way to economize and have everything tie in together.

twoSimplicity and minimalistic: these are my ultimate home-office goals.

three – Totally appreciate the geometric touches to this space. It adds a modern feel without going overboard.

four – The way this office is organized is a blogger’s wish come true.

five – The idea of a wall-sized chalk board is fantastic: it’ll keep Leo entertained for hours!

5 Ways to Stay Organized in the Office

How to keep your office organized.

Organized space for organized work: here’s how I control it all within my office.

My office is my sanctuary. When we moved into our current apartment, I was so grateful for Joe’s generosity. You see, for two years we were living in a (super adorable!) modern one-bedroom condo unit, but we were quickly outgrowing it. We decided to upgrade and move into a place with a spare room. Through his usual act of selflessness, Joe allowed me to make the entire room my very own.

I do a lot of thinking in my office. It’s also the one place that I can call mine. I love my family to bits, but I have always been an introvert, so having personal space is necessary for my well-being.

I maintain my office with a certain expectation of neatness and cleanliness. An organized space means organized thoughts. Between baby, blog and (for the moment), bridesmaid duties, I need to keep a clear focus on everything I do.

How to keep your office organized.

Here are my tips on how to stay organized in the office:

  1. Everything has its place – From pens to notebooks down to random scribbles and notes: I always make sure that my belongings have designated spots on my desk. This way, I know where to grab for them – especially if I’m in a rush or if a good thought comes to mind.
  2. Make daily lists – It’s great to have an idea of what you’d like to have done within a week or a month. Daily lists can help you accomplish your long-term goals. I get hyped-up in motivation when I cross out small and effective tasks.
  3. Invest in an agenda –  Appointments, meetings, and reminders: my agenda is my go-to reference for what’s going on in my life.
  4. Color-code – When I’m writing notes, I use a collection of highlighters and colored pens to have certain points pop out. It helps me remember important facts from meetings and conferences.
  5. The trashcan – Keep your trashcan close by! I avoid clutter by getting rid of unnecessary documents right away.

Friday Favorites: Have Your Cake and Eat it, Too

So you say I can eat my cake as well? I’ll take it all. All of the slices.

This week, I was all about birthday parties. I am always one for making a big deal of other people’s big days! I know my husband has requested a very specific cake for his celebrations this year, so I gotta roll up my sleeves and impress him!

As we approach spring, I’m getting ready for yet, another big move. Joe and I will soon be heading out to the suburbs and once we’re all settled in, I’ll be baking up a storm. In the meantime, I’ve gathered up some tasty links that I think you and your sweet tooth will enjoy.

Have a great weekend!
