Here are (in our toy-loving opinion) some of the best toddler toys out there.

Tried, tested and true by our very own 2 year old! Totally toddler-approved!
Toddlerhood has been, by far, one of my favorite phases. As a mom to a toddler, I’m fascinated with Leo’s willingness to learn and discover.
Entertaining this age group takes a lot of energy. Moms, have you run into the “why?” phase yet? They need an answer to almost everything! Their curiosities are growing and their minds are like sponges, ready to take in all the information thrown their way.
Besides imaginative, outdoor and sensory play, there are also key toys we turn to as a part of our day’s entertainment. Over the past couple of years, these are the best toddler toys we’ve come across:
Our Top Picks for the Best Toddler Toys
This list is definitely practical to have on-hand for any gift-giving opportunities (Um, hello Christmas and birthday parties!). Choosing the right gifts for toddlers can get tricky. These toddler toys make wonderful presents because they feature well-known characters, they’re colorful and (ultimately) they’re tons of fun – which is the most important part!
The toys I’ve listed are also reasonably priced – which is key for most families, especially when it comes to gift-giving. Not to mention, you can find most of these toddler toys on Amazon, so they’re just a click away!
VTech Smart Shots Sports Center
Speaking of gifts, this was one of the first toys given to Leo from my sister – and he absolutely adores it! The 2-in-1 basketball hoop sports center has provided our little guy with hours of fun. The LED Scoreboard counts along with every shoot your toddler makes into the hoop. Super cute!
Fisher-Price Beats Dance & Move BeatBo
This is a toy that has grown with Leo and he never seems to get sick of it! He received the BeatBo for his first birthday and he continues to dance with his it every day. BeatBo helps teach your little ones how to count, the alphabet, and about colors. Plus, he’s always up for a good dance – and who wouldn’t want that?!
Bizzi the Bumble Bee Inflatable Ride-On Bouncer
Good for 18 months and onwards, this inflatable bee is incredibly cute and so much fun for your very active toddler! It’s easy to inflate and is a great addition to your kiddo’s colorful bedroom.
Superhero Action Figures
Within the last year, Leo has taken a huge interest in superheroes – specifically, Marvel characters. You can bet that I was super stoked when I discovered a set of superhero dolls, all at a low price of $10 each. Its packaging suggests they should be for kids 4 years and older, but they’re sturdy and don’t have any small pieces. They’re a huge hit in our household!
Pound-a-Peg
I can never resist a beautifully-made wooden toy, and the Melissa & Doug brand always produces such brilliant ones! This Pound-a-Beg toy is a classic and, in my opinion, should be added to every toddler’s toybox!
See ‘N Say Farmer Says by Fisher-Price
When Leo was born, my mother was adamant that he get a See ‘N Say toy. I had one when I was a wee little one, as did my older siblings. She wanted to carry on the tradition, so she opted to purchase Leo a French version (ours were English) to encourage his multilingualism (we speak 4 languages at home!).
Soft Trucks and Cars Set by BToys
Our family adores BToys, not only because their products are tons of fun, but because they’re a company that’s environmentally-conscious and always keeps kids’ interests in mind. One of our favorite sets is our BToys Soft Trucks and Cars, which Leo played with for hours on end when he entered the toddler/independent play stage.
What are some of your favorite toddler toys? Are there any from this list that you’d like to get for your little one or give as a gift?
I think my nephew would love the VTech Smart Shots Sports Center. It looks pretty low to the ground for a 2 year old. Can you adjust it higher?
My kids are older now, and it’s fun to know what is popular with the littler kids. I need to shop for some of my nieces and nephews and I like to know what kids like.
This is a very helpful list for me as I have no kids but lots of family & friends with toddlers! Thanks for sharing! Will look into these for Christmas!
I love this time of year. So many fun toys are showcased. I do love VTech.
I saw the toy with the basketball hoop in the store, and I said to my husband “Christmas was so easy when we could buy these toys” our children are older now, but I LOVED this age group
I havent seen that Beatbo before. I dont think that was around when my kids were really little but it looks super neat!
The basketball hoop is a big hit with my friends’ kids. It makes a great gift option.
These all look lie great toys for toddlers! I remember how much my kids loved the V-tech products when they were little!!
