Toddler Activity: How to Encourage Counting with Unicorns
It’s really simple! All you have to do is print out my “Count the Unicorn Rainbow” activity on cardstock, cut, and assemble – ta-da! You’ve got a fun toddler activity full of unicorn cuteness.
PBS states that, “Around 24 months, the average child uses a few number words without understanding quantity. […] On average, an older two-year-old understands the words ‘one’ and ‘two.’”
Starting early is never harmful. When I play this game with Leo (who’s just a little over 2 years old), we will randomly draw a number together and then I hand him the corresponding number of rainbows, counting aloud as he inserts one into each unicorn box.
This toddler activity is a great way to pass the time and avoid the dreaded “bored and restless” period of the day.
So add some sparkle and colour to your next family activity. Let me know what you think of this fun Toddler Unicorn Printable – give it a try with your little one! It’s so much fun.
