Here comes another milestone: Leo is toddler-bed ready and mama’s feeling all sentimental.
You guys… it’s happening. Leo is graduating to a toddler-bed and I feel as if he’s already packing his bags and heading to college. It’s incredible how fast these milestones pass by.
On my last post, I talked about our recent move. As we unpacked, I found Leo’s first ever onesie (the one he went home in). I look at the tiny neck hole, the small sleeves, and the little buttons – then I look at Leo, who’s walking, playing, and starting to repeat words. It pulls at my heart strings: Every. Single. Time.
I’m so excited to show you Leo’s toddler-bed area. This will be the first of many room reveals on our blog, so get ready! Lucky for me, I was able to put-together his toddler-bed area with items from BuyBuy Baby. It’s just so easy for me to shop at a store that’s bright, clean, offers quality baby items, and boasts incredible customer service. (And that’s exactly why you can find me shopping there for hours at a time.)
Aaaaand here it is:
How We Set Up Leo’s Toddler-Bed Area
Leo’s toddler-bed is actually a convertible setup that started off as his crib. All we had to do was purchase the toddler-bed kit (essentially, one side of the crib that’s lower/shorter and has an opening).
As we get through this new phase, Joe and I decided to keep the toddler-bed in our master bedroom, much like we did when we first set-up his crib. In the meantime, we’ve made Leo’s room into a playroom/office combo.
Since we’re all sharing one bedroom, I wanted to differentiate our respective areas with their own colour schemes. Leo’s toddler-bed set-up is cusping on a grey/black/monochrome type-of-look.
I turned to these triangular wall decals to give Leo’s main wall some character. I’m not a huge fan of wallpaper (or rather, the act of putting it up and taking it down) so these made for a great alternative.
The decals come in sheets so it’s up to you how to put them up on the wall. (P.S. Wall decals are a great option if you’re renting your house/condo.)
As a treat to Leo, we decided to buy him a new mattress. The Little Princess Bedtyme Comfort II Crib and Toddler Mattress is offered at a great price point and offers three cushioning layers. It’s totally comfy and grows with your child since it fits all standard-size American cribs and toddler beds.
Sheets & Blankies
I was never one for the “baby boy blue” colour scheme. Even for my baby shower, I requested a mint green setup to steer clear from it.
I fell in love with the pattern on our fitted crib sheet (similar here) and thought it went well with our decals. Then, I spotted this simple, yet, elegant blankie from Ellen Degeneres’ baby line (yes, she has one!) to tie it all in together.
It’s the Little Details
I’m all about storage and organization so I opted to place this box on a side table for easy access to Leo’s diapers and wipes. This way, the essentials are at arm’s reach but are still stored away neatly.
How do you like Leo’s toddler-bed area? Have you ever shopped at BuyBuy Baby before?
