Dressing a Post-Baby Bod: Kimono Comfort

Kimono comfort as my wardrobe go-to.

I feel like I’ve been sporting the “open-blouse” look for quite a while now. Since being pregnant, my go-to uniform has been a dress shirt (unbuttoned, of course) and/or a loose cardigan (for winter months, in particular).

I find it a little unfair to deem my body as “post-baby,” considering I gave birth over a year ago. I might be my own worst critic (actually, I probably am), but I still find myself reaching over for looser clothing items in hopes to cover up any of my insecurities.

This kimono offers a bright alternative to my large collection of neutral-coloured cardigans. I gravitated towards the piece for its mix of fabrics and textures. Those burgundy flowers have a touch of velour to them. Absolute perfection: so soft, so fun, and so much character.

Mamas: what clothing items do you shop for? How long did it take you to feel comfortable in your skin post-pregnancy?

  1. I think anyone who has had a baby has perpetual “post-baby body.” 🙂 There’s something about the way having a baby changes everything, even your body. I do love the bright colors – my co-worker would wear that every day, I think, if she had it!

  2. These are some really great outfits. I love the kimono! I don’t really wear them, but you can really pull it off. They look great on you.

  3. I am OBSESSED with Kimonos, and this one is straight up beautiful. I’m loving the contrasting colors, they’re so gorgeous and it looks great on you.
