My 5 minute makeup routine shows that minimal application can go a long way.

…because this mama needs to find (effective) shortcuts wherever she can!
I have always been busy gal – even before becoming a parent. Now that I’m working double duty as a mom and a full-time WAHM, I’m constantly on-the-go.
At one point, when I first became a WAHM, I was all over the place. I was constantly changing my routines in order to work full-time while being an attentive parent. Of course, it took some experimental schedules here and there – and now, I finally feel like I’ve got a good routine. Back then, I definitely didn’t have any sort of makeup/morning regimen in place… and I knew that needed to change.
Getting Ready as a WAHM
Working from home, I realized that getting ready with a morning routine was vital for my productivity. It made me feel more professional, ready to tackle my busy day.

This is how I put together my quick (and effective!) 5 minute makeup routine. Sure, it’s quick… but it does the trick and makes me feel confident. Here’s how I go about it:
My Easy Peasy 5 Minute Makeup Routine
Skin Prep
First and foremost, I always make sure that my skin is ready and prepped every morning. My skincare routine is really simple – I use holistic products from Dr. Hauschka, and my skin loves me for it.
You can check out my skincare regimen in this blog post.
If ever there are days I go “makeup free,” my easy skincare routine ensures that I’m feeling dewy and fresh every morning.

Eye Makeup
I begin with my eye makeup, and swish on a quick eyeliner on my top lid as well as below my lashline. I love Sephora’s Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner. It has a rich color, it’s budget-friendly, and the smudge tool works like a charm.
As for mascara, I love Ilia’s Limitless Mascara. Its wand is fantastic – not too big and not too small.

Concealer
My Bobbi Brown concealer is fantastic – I’ve been using it for years. For my morning routine, I apply it under my eyes and blend it with a makeup sponge.

Bronzer and Blush
I finish off my look with some bronzer and blush. I have yet to find bronzers and blushes I’m fully committed to. Right now, I’m using Sephora’s Bronzer Powder, which certainly does the trick. As for blush, I’m currently using Arbonne’s blush in Blossom.

Lips
I have to say, I have always been a huge fan of Dior lip products – their lipsticks, stains and glosses are beyond. I’ve used a variety over the years but one of my favorites is their Rouge Dior lipstick in Brownish Beige.

And that’s about it! Believe me when I say that my routine is quick and efficient. I love my daily look because it never feels too heavy on my skin.
