The end of November marks the time when I officially get into the holiday spirit. This means I’m racking up my brain with gift ideas, performing endless baking sprees, and hosting loads of dinner parties. I’m all about holiday entertainment, so I always look for ways to create a full holiday ambiance in my space.
Together, Joe and I have a pretty long list of family and friends. With our parents living in different cities, we always have to carefully schedule (well in advance!) when, where, and how the holiday celebrations will be taking place. During the months creeping up to Christmas and New Year’s, we try our best to invite our friends over for some holiday entertainment.
For this year’s decor, I made it a point to purchase items in warm tones to adhere to my copper and gold theme (that’ll surely match our soon-to-be wrapping paper and tree ornaments). Also, I picked up a couple of pieces that had dual purpose: coffee table centerpieces that could also be used for guest entertainment.
The round tray, for instance, can also be used year-round by changing what you put in it (a mini vase with delicate flowers for warmer seasons, for instance). What sold me on this piece was its grained wood finish. Another favorite of mine is my copper cocktail shaker which gives off a total vintage feel.
Other items to top off our living room for this season: this deer pillow case and an expression pillow. Also, we pulled out our faux-fur throw from storage and draped it over one of the armrests on our sofa. All of these pieces helped put together a simple holiday theme without making our home look like Santa’s workshop.
These items were all found at Indigo Books & Music – they never cease to let me down for home decor and entertainment items!
