Friday Favorites: Mad About Lips

Eventually, I’ll be brave enough to sport bold colors on my lips. For now, I’ll just watch tutorials on Insta.

Wrapping up the week with everything and anything about lips.

Ever since I picked up my tube of Dior Addict Lip Glow, I’ve been seriously scouring the web for more lipstick options. Don’t get me wrong: my lipstick collection is quite decent, especially in ratio to what I have in my makeup drawer. I like to think that I show a fine balance between “cosmetics lover” to “minimalist makeup applier.”

This Friday, I rounded up anything and everything about lips. From treatments to products I’m most curious about: here are some of the most interesting reads on the net this week.

Have a fantastic weekend!

  1. I have been so tempted to order in a few of these beauties. (allure.com)
  2. World’s Most Expensive Lip Art. (dailymail.co.uk)
  3. Lip scrubs are what keep my lips soft and less chapped – especially during winter months. Totally loving this recipe for a mocha lip scrub. (thecrunchychronicles.com)
  4. The cutest homemade lip balms. (asideofsweet.com)

  1. Many women in my family wear makeup, especially lipstick. This would be an ideal reference for them! Good insight on choosing various shades and colors of lipstick. I would definitely recommend to them to read this!

  2. I think this is so funny that you posted this! I have an Ipsy subscription and I get some fun colors for my lips but I get a bit nervous to actually try them on and go out. I have to get out of my own head because the colors I receive are just fabulous! Number 2 is just… WOW!!!

  3. My wife wears makeup. She rarely wears lipstick. This could be a good idea for her! Thank you for posting a very informative post on choosing lipstick! I would definitely recommend for her to read this!

  4. My oldest daughters wear lipstick, I have worn it before but I’m jut not that bold…lol! Those diamond lips are amazing! That’s some expensive lip art.

  5. What lovely ideas for lips. Especially those for diy products .. I’m a huge fan because I like to know exactly what is in the things I use on my body. I’m going give the mocha lip scrub a try this weekend .. along with the homemade lip balms! This is going to be fun .. thank-you!

  6. I’m personally not a huge make up person, so I love my EOS lip balms, but I’ve been tempted to try some new lipsticks as it’s coming to summer time and I’m in L O V E with the bright reds and nudes! <3

  7. I know the feeling, although I have to admit that I LOVE a bold lip on rare occassion. My makeup routine is much more of a natural look with a soft lip for day to day wear. When I went to BeautyCon last summer, one of the makeup lines gave me this gorgeous, vibrant purple lipstick. I’ve only worn it once – out to lunch with one of my friends who is a pro makeup artist. I figured if I can wear purple lipstick, I can wear it with my MUA friends. Now to get the guts to wear it again.
