Focusing on Shoe Love

Changing it up this Valentine's Day and focusing on a new romance: my love for shoes.

My budding romance is a little different for this year’s Valentine’s Day. I’m focusing on shoe love – footwear galore. Yes, I’ll take all of the pairs. All of them.

I know I’ve gushed about my husband plenty of times on this blog. For those of you who followed my wedding stories, you’ll know that I tied the knot with Joe only a couple of years ago. Being a creature of routine, I implemented a Valentine’s tradition pretty early on in our relationship. Now that our family is slowly growing, we’ve got more traditions to fulfill. This Valentine’s, however, I’ve been bitten by a different love bug: my “shoe love” has soared to great, new heights.

One of the harder parts of my pregnancy was my swelling feet. By the end of my second trimester, they were throbbing and slightly misshaped. I quickly outgrew all of my footwear so I headed out to purchase a couple of new boots. As I expected, my feet went up a full size after giving birth (I was an American size 6 my whole adult-life – I am now a 7). Since this change, I have been obsessed with browsing for new footwear. More specifically, I’ve been scouring the Internet for a pair of nude heels since I have a long line of weddings to attend this summer.

Here are a few of my favorites:

{one} I have always been a sucker for a classic pair of Valentino’s.

{two} My husband is a huge fan of anything Vans – these slip-ons are definitely a pair that I’d wear on a daily basis.

{three} Aldo always nails it with their booties. The golden zipper is what caught my eye on these ankle boots.

{four} I have yet to purchase a pair of Louboutins. These flats are officially on my wishlist.

Comments

  1. I am addicted to shoes. I don’t have a preference either, can be high heels, casual or even flip flops. I may never wear them but I have to get them if I think they are cute!

  2. I am addicted to shoes but I’m also addicted to traveling. I love wearing heels but I need a good pair of flats that also look good. I think those Louboutin’s would work perfectly!

  3. I love pair number two. A classic pair of slip on shoes is a must have for anyone’s closet. Comfy and they go with anything,

  4. Although my baby days are behind me I had the same issue. My feet grew half a size per kid, two total.

I’ve started to get into flats and it has been hard to find really cute options.

  5. My girl is not into wearing those 5 inch heels anymore! She has wised up at an early age. Conformability first and foremost!

  6. I am a shoe lover. I would rather spend my money on designer shoes than bags ) My current favorite brands, I wear daily: Isabel Marant boots, Aquatalia boots, Giuseppe Zanotti.

  7. I’ve always been a handbag gal but lately I’ve had an affinity for luxury shoes. I splurged on a pair of Chloe flats and they were the best shoe investment I’ve made! Great post.
