Friday Favorites: Your Lovely Face

All-star treatments for that lovely face of yours.

Masks, cleaning regimens, and DIY solutions for your lovely face.

This week, I had enough. I was tired, I felt icky, and I just wanted a little break.

I managed to slip away and visited my local Dr. Hauschka Spa for a full body treatment (an hour and a half’s worth!). It was definitely worth while. I decided to continue the self-pampering with some at-home mask treatments. Most importantly, I gave my face a mini treatment with one of Lush’s most popular products.

Yes, I realize that we all deserve a break. I know that I can get carried away with the hustle and bustle of every day life, but I can’t work until I burst (much like I did this past week). No, I probably won’t be making weekly spa bookings, but I have to remember that my overall well-being is important to both myself and my family.

Here are some tips for that lovely face of yours. Go on. Give yourself some time off. Even if it’s for a few minutes:

  1. Love avocados? Then you’ll definitely love this homemade mask. (
  2. Make your own firming clay mask with this lovely recipe (
  3. Can’t wait to try this beauty out (

Lush Face Mask Review: BB Seaweed

Reviewing Lush's BB Seaweed face mask - because every mama deserves a treat!

Mama needed a break. So naturally, mama turned to a Lush face mask for a little treat.

With the season in its transitional state, my skin has finally started to react. Hay fever hits me hard at the same time every year, leaving me itchy, red, and sensitive.

Reviewing Lush's BB Seaweed face mask - because every mama deserves a treat!

I’m a sucker for any at-home spa treatment. Being a creature of habit, I tend to turn to the same beauty products. As you may already know, I’m a sucker for any Lush face mask. Lucky for me, I had 5 pots to trade in, so I opted for Lush’s BB Seaweed as my reward.

My thoughts:

Love, love, love the smell of this face mask. I’m pretty sensitive to scents, but BB Seaweed offers a light aroma that will make you feel like you’re getting a professional face treatment.

The large chunks of seaweed are fantastic: they offer a light exfoliation to my face.

My skin did not react nor get red, which is all I really look for in beauty products (especially since I’m prone to eczema).

The pot comes with so much product. According to directions, you have to put on a generous amount on your face, which I did. When I look back into my pot, I probably have enough for another 2 to 3 uses.

Have you ever checked out Lush’s face masks? Which ones are your favorites? Are there any others you’d like me to review?

Friday Favorites: Family Traditions

Celebrating the best in family traditions to wrap up a week full of love.Wrapping up a loving week with the best in family traditions.

Celebrating the best in family traditions to wrap up a week full of love.

Family traditions are something that Joe and I constantly talk about. Perhaps it’s the idea of consistency, but we find ourselves constantly throwing ideas around: “How about we do this every year?” “How do you think the kids will like it?” Hopefully one day, our children will continue our family customs and pass them down to their very own.

What are some of your traditions? Do they take place during the holidays? On birthdays? We’d love to hear your ideas! Comment below and tell us about them – we’d love the inspiration!

Happy Friday! Enjoy some fun-filled, family-oriented links:

Our First Set of Family Photos with Laurie-Anne Thuot Photography

Laurie-Anne Thuot Photography brilliantly captured our first set of family photos

Making memories is what raising a family is all about. Capturing family photos by brilliant photographers is an absolute plus.

When I found out I was pregnant, a whole slew of emotions came over me. In fact, Joe and I have quite the story to tell about our discovery, but I’ll save that for another time.

My mother was always one for taking pictures. She made sure to capture every possible moment and to this day, she shows off her collection of (hundreds) of photographs to family and friends. I actually talk about it here on my food blog, Marble Crumbs. (I must tell you: The article involves cake – and lots of it.)

You can only imagine what I was had in mind for my son’s photo sessions. Being raised to appreciate a good picture (or two, or three, or a hundred), I knew that just like my mom, I wanted to capture every waking (and napping) moment.

I came across Laurie-Anne‘s photography through her Facebook page and I was completely wow’ed. I browsed through wedding albums, maternity shoots, and most importantly: family sessions. Immediately I knew that her style and aesthetic was what I wanted for our family’s memories.

I couldn’t be more ecstatic to share with you our first set of family photos. Laurie-Anne’s raw talent shines bright through every one of her portraits: fantastic lighting with crisp, opaque images. They make me want to create a wall-sized bookshelf and fill them with family albums. Her work is completely irresistible and heart-warming. We couldn’t be more grateful to have Laurie-Anne as our official family photographer.

Friday Favorites: Shorts Weather

Is it shorts weather yet?

The best kind of weather is shorts weather. Legs for days!

Many of the wine recipes I featured earlier this week were icy, cool and refreshing. Not to mention, I made my very own Raspberry Lemon Spritzer on my food blog, Marble Crumbs, and it totally quenched my thirst.

I found that ever since I gave birth, I’ve been really feeling the heat. I often find myself turning on the air in the middle of the day, even if it’s cooler outside.

Of course, with summer being my favorite season, I’m incredibly eager for its arrival. Where I’m from, spring is only a short bridge between harsh winter temperatures and scorching summer nights. Shorts weather is well on its way and I cannot wait!

What are y’all up to this weekend?

  1. The cutest printed shorts from Zara – they look so soft and are high-waisted (which I love, because they’ll be post-baby friendly) (
  2. A look at the evolution of shorts (
  3. A high-waisted denim number, sported by my favorite blogger (
  4. I can never say no to a good skort (

12 Recipes That Use Wine

Use wine in more ways than one! Desserts, slushies, and icy treats!

With these recipes, you can use wine several different ways – even though nothing beats a glass of red after your nine to five.

I can still taste the bubbles from my first gulp of beer after being pregnant. It was delicious, satisfying, and went incredibly well with my steak dinner. I must say, I have yet to experience my first glass of wine since giving birth, but I’m definitely looking forward to it.

In our household, wine gets stashed up quite easily. When we host dinner parties, our generous guests usually present us with a bottle (or two) and so we rack up quite the collection.

In order to avoid missing any bottles, I gathered up 12 different recipes that use wine. From icy treats to classic desserts – I found some pretty impressive recipes that’ll have you serving some boozy treats in no time!

Friday Favorites: Mad About Lips

Eventually, I’ll be brave enough to sport bold colors on my lips. For now, I’ll just watch tutorials on Insta.

Wrapping up the week with everything and anything about lips.

Ever since I picked up my tube of Dior Addict Lip Glow, I’ve been seriously scouring the web for more lipstick options. Don’t get me wrong: my lipstick collection is quite decent, especially in ratio to what I have in my makeup drawer. I like to think that I show a fine balance between “cosmetics lover” to “minimalist makeup applier.”

This Friday, I rounded up anything and everything about lips. From treatments to products I’m most curious about: here are some of the most interesting reads on the net this week.

Have a fantastic weekend!

  1. I have been so tempted to order in a few of these beauties. (
  2. World’s Most Expensive Lip Art. (
  3. Lip scrubs are what keep my lips soft and less chapped – especially during winter months. Totally loving this recipe for a mocha lip scrub. (
  4. The cutest homemade lip balms. (

Refreshing and Alluring: Dior Addict Lip Glow

Refreshing and Alluring: Dior Addict Lip Glow

Part color, part balm and 100% effective. Dior Addict Lip Glow is one-of-a-kind.

I was never one for deeply-colored lipsticks. I love the look of a matte plum or a bright red on others, but would never be bold enough to sport them myself. When I heard about Dior Addict Lip Glow, I was intrigued. I immediately added it onto my Spring Makeup Wishlist and soon it enough, it became a staple in my cosmetics collection.

Reviewing the Dior Addict Lip Glow for spring makeup

Dior’s Lip Glow boasts a unique formula that transforms itself into a “universal balm.” When applied on the lips, it’s creamy and soothing. Its color tone looks different on every person. Thanks to its special chemistry, Dior’s Lip Glow flushes out a custom pink based on the person’s skin tone and what’s suits them best.

I have never felt so comfortable with any other lipstick. Sure, I have a decent collection with shades I am in love with. However, this product really does give me the best of both worlds. I apply it freely like a lip balm and sport it with confidence due to its perfect coloring.

Friday Favorites: Pineapple Sweetness

The best in pineapple sweetness. Friday has never tasted so good.

The best of the week, featuring some recipes that boast a whole lotta pineapple sweetness.

Earlier this week I boasted about Fabulous Habits’ new and shiny look. A logo goes a long way for branding, which is why I was thrilled that my dear friend Belinda hopped on board to help us out for ours.

So why the pineapple?

I wanted something sweet to represent Fabulous Habits. I wanted to throw an ode to my family and have it reflect on our heritage. A pineapple is vibrant, sweet in taste, and thrives in tropical climates. It was just a natural fit for FH.

So, without further ado, I present to you some delicious pineapple recipes to help kick start your weekend. Have a great one!

  1. What the Fork‘s take on a classic Pineapple Upside-Down Cake (
  2. Summer Sangria done right! (
  3. Pineapple as a prime ingredient in a savory dish (
  4. A super-smoothie that has all the right ingredients – yes, pineapple included (

A Fresh New Look: Fabulous Habits x Quire & Co.

Partnered with Quire & Co for a fresh, new look for the Fabulous Habits blog

Partnered with Quire & Co. for a sweet, fresh and new look.

Not too long ago, I interviewed my friend Belinda Moy for her recent ventures in Quire & Co. – a blog dedicated to beautiful calligraphy and the art of bullet journals.

A couple of years back, Belinda helped me create a logo for my food blog, Marble Crumbs. As always, I was incredibly happy with her work. Soon enough, I decided it was time for Fabulous Habits to boast a fresh, new look.

I started blogging for my love of storytelling and my fascination with beautiful, airy, and ethereal photography. I decided that what this blog needed most was a brand-spanking, shiny, new logo. Of course, I turned to Belinda for her talent and brilliant mind: I couldn’t imagine anyone else in helping me with the branding of Fabulous Habits.

As always, Belinda put to life exactly what I had envisioned. The logo is incredibly fitting to the Fabulous Habits brand.

If you head on over to the Quire & Co. blog and Instagram page, you’ll see that Belinda’s got quite the giveaway up her sleeve. Best of luck and I hope you have a fabulous day.
